A Small Island Update From A. Heartwood
The marina has been quiet lately.
Not the empty kind of quiet.
The peaceful kind.
The kind where ceiling fans turn slowly above half-finished drinks at Jack’s Place while somebody in the distance tunes a guitar near the docks.
And somewhere behind the scenes…
Solaramo Cay has been taking another very big step forward.
I’m incredibly happy to share that the first two manuscripts in the Solaramo Cay series have officially been delivered to Palmista Press Limited for proofreading and editorial review.
Which means…
For the first time ever, these stories are now in other people’s hands.
That feels surreal to say out loud.
From Notes to Real Books
For a long time, Solaramo Cay existed in scattered notebooks, late-night writing sessions, voice notes, half-finished chapters, and scenes written while listening to ocean sounds far too late into the night.
Now those stories are becoming real books.
Properly edited.
Proofread.
Prepared for readers around the world.
Honestly, I still haven’t fully processed it.
The First Two Stories
I don’t want to reveal too much just yet.
But I can say this:
The first two books capture the heart of what Solaramo Cay is meant to be.
Not just romance.
Not just beaches and sunsets.
But the feeling of arriving somewhere that quietly changes you.
Readers can expect:
slow-burn relationships
marina nights
music drifting through warm air
complicated people trying to heal
unexpected friendships
beautiful mistakes
second chances
and that strange feeling that maybe the island knows exactly why you came there
And yes…
Jack’s Place is very much alive and well.
The Editing Stage
This part of the process is both exciting and terrifying for any writer.
You spend so long alone with these characters that eventually they stop feeling fictional.
Then one day you hand them over to editors and proofreaders and hope they see what you saw while writing them.
Thankfully, the team at Palmista Press has already been incredibly supportive of the world, the tone, and the atmosphere of Solaramo Cay.
That means a lot to me.
Especially because this series has always been more about feeling than plot.
It’s about warmth.
Belonging.
Escape.
Healing.
Romance.
Memory.
And sunsets that somehow arrive exactly when people need them most.
What Happens Next
The next stage includes:
editorial review
proofreading
revisions
formatting
cover development
release planning
Which means Solaramo Cay is officially moving closer and closer to publication.
Closer to readers finally stepping onto the island for themselves.
I genuinely cannot wait.
Final Thoughts
Thank you again to everyone following this journey from the very beginning.
Every message.
Every comment.
Every kind word.
It means more than you probably realize.
The island is growing.
The marina lights are turning on.
And somewhere tonight, beneath the palms, another story is already beginning.
