A Letter From A. Heartwood — The Future of Solaramo Cay
There are moments in life that feel almost unreal.
Moments where something that once existed only in your imagination suddenly becomes permanent.
Today is one of those moments for me.
I’m incredibly proud — and honestly still a little emotional — to officially share that Palmista Press Limited has agreed to publish the Solaramo Cay series in full.
The initial agreement covers 10 books.
Ten journeys back to the marina.
Ten sunsets over the docks.
Ten chances to sit once again at Jack’s Place with people who somehow started as characters and slowly became family.
But if I’m being truthful…
I already know Solaramo Cay won’t end there.
The Island Keeps Growing
When I first started writing about Solaramo Cay, I thought I was writing a romance story.
Then I thought I was writing a place.
Eventually I realized I was writing about something much stranger:
The feeling of wanting to belong somewhere.
Readers began writing to me saying:
“I wish Solaramo Cay was real.”
“I feel homesick for this island.”
“Jack’s Place feels like somewhere I’ve actually been.”
“I don’t want to leave.”
The funny thing is…
Neither do I.
Every time I sit down to write, another street appears.
Another guest checks into the marina.
Another story quietly begins somewhere beneath the palms.
Solaramo Cay keeps expanding in ways I never expected.
Why This Matters So Much
Publishing a long-form series means something important:
The island gets to breathe.
Stories can unfold slowly.
Characters can return years later.
Relationships can deepen naturally.
Tiny moments can matter.
We don’t have to rush sunsets here.
That matters to me more than I can properly explain.
What Readers Can Expect
Without revealing too much…
The next books will explore:
returning guests
new romances
old heartbreaks
hidden parts of the island
storms
weddings
marina legends
music drifting through warm midnight air
people arriving for a vacation and quietly changing their entire lives
And yes…
You’ll absolutely be seeing more of:
Jack
Tavi
Gerald the turtle
the marina
the ferry
those impossible Solaramo sunsets
Some stories will stand alone.
Others will quietly connect in ways you may not notice until several books later.
That’s the beauty of island life.
Everyone eventually crosses paths.
More Than Ten
The agreement may begin with ten books.
But Solaramo Cay has already become much larger than that to me.
As long as readers continue returning to the island…
as long as there are stories waiting beneath the palms…
as long as somebody somewhere still needs a place to escape to…
I think I’ll keep writing them.
Honestly?
I suspect I’ll be writing Solaramo Cay stories for a very long time.
Final Thoughts
Thank you to every reader who believed in this little island before the world knew its name.
Thank you for every message.
Every review.
Every kind word.
Every moment you spent sitting beside the marina with these characters.
This is only the beginning.
And if you listen closely…
You can probably already hear the music drifting from Jack’s Place tonight.
